Coffee with Cream

Just as it seems coffee has been around forever, so it seems we have always known each other as friends. Coffee is welcomed at any occasion. It's the drink that delights kings and commoners alike, and it's the thing that brings us together across a table...or across many miles. So sit down and let me serve you a cup....

Here's my life.....

WOW!!!! Life sure can be hard!!! Just know that I am having to do something in life that I am not a fan of having to do. BUT, you know what?....Life is only going to get better from here on out. I love life usually, I just have to get back to that, and I will, just bare with me, okay? Right now, my main concern is me and my boys and staying connected to them as much as possible. I have a great job with great friends who care about my well being---I just have to dig deep down into my own being and pull myself back up. My biggest fan right now is my roommate Kristina...she cheers me on no matter what decision I make...however, she is very honest with me and that is what I need at this point. Thank you Kristina, I love you girl!!!! And to everyone else who passes by my cafe of coffee-w-cream, I wish you all the best that your life at this moment has to offer. Just pay attention...life will sweep you off your feet when you're not looking!!!!! Sometimes tragic, sometimes wonderful!!!! So sit back, feed me some comments and enjoy that cup of coffee just how you like it. Sleep well and we'll start tomorrow anew. Good Night and Sweet Dreams!!! Love, Sherry

Men Are Just Happier People--

--What do you expect from such simple creatures??
Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Chocolate is just another snack.
You can be President.
You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom "cause this one icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
Wedding dress $5000.
Tux rental--$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle last for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes in one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can can "do" your nails with a pocket knife.
You have the freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.
Thus, this concludes my tribute to men...No wonder men are happier!!!
Have a great day and a great cup of coffee. With Love, sherry

Loving You Forever...

I was just leaving-the night was winding down
You touched my shoulder and I turned around
Here we are-the hardest part is done
And all that's left is loving you forever...

My heart stopped beating-I couldn't let it show
You were as unexpected as roses in the snow
Just like that I knew you were the one
And all that's left is loving you forever...

In this world we're lucky if we find
A spark that sparks one time
Like when we are together

And in the moment, it happened so fast
My prayers were answered-I found love at last
Take my hand-our life has begun
And all that's left is loving you forever...
Here we are-the hardest part is done
And all that's left is loving you forever...
song by-Carol King

I discovered this song last summer on a special set by one of the best singer/songwriters from the 60's and 70's. I have always loved Carol King for as long as I can remember. For those of you who know me well--I am a fan of the music from the 70's and 80's, so of course, this was a huge find for me and I have thoroughly enjoyed this CD over and over and over again. : ) When I found this song, it couldn't have come along at a better time. Joe was due home from Iraq soon and I discovered that for me and him as well, that the "hard part" would soon be over and he would be back home safe and sound. I dedicated this song to the both of us. I am glad he's home, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!! What a strong person those 9 months has made me. Welcome Home Joe!! Love You Much!!
As always, live each day as if it were on purpose and enjoy a cup of coffee...it will do you good!!

Mayonnaise jar & 2 Cups of Coffee...

You've probably heard this, but sit down and just enjoy it again. I thought it fitting for my blog...Enjoy!!
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full...They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with unanimous..."Yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," ..said the professor, as the laughter subsided..."I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things...God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions...things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter...like you job, house and car. The sand is everything else...the small stuff." "If you put the sand into the jar first,"..he continued..."there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you." "So..Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness..play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. Ther will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first...the things that really matter. Set your priorities...the rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked...it just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem...there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend." : )
So, go ahead, share this with someone you care about...I just did!! Remember our troops!!

My Vice, My Coffee, mmm...good....

I just love a GOOD cup of steaming hot coffee. Surprised? I didn't think so. Anyone who knows me or is just an acquaintance knows that Sherry loves her coffee. Just the thought of sitting down and tucking my legs under me allowing the steamy aroma to waft its way in front of my face is very intoxicating!! What a comfort I get just enjoying a cup of coffee. Everyone has their own "vice" if you will and well, coffee is mine. It can be a bit costly, but at least it's not going to kill me!! I know, I know, I've heard all of the studies and they have pretty much contra-indicated themselves. Hell, now they're saying that coffee can actually be good for you!!! They also say that if you suddenly quit drinking it, that it can be somewhat detrimental to your health. So, there you go, I'm not going to give it up. In fact, Joe just poured me a nice hot cup as we speak...or as I type. :) My dad is a coffee drinker as well and if you mention to him something along the lines of say a new diet that's out, his first question is..."Can I still have my coffee? If not, then count me out." : } That's my dad...I love him. So go ahead, go find your "vice," an honest to good one...life is too short not to enjoy it!! Here's to you, a toast to many cups of coffee*******Good Night and Sweet Dreams of coffee beans dancing in your head... ; )

Let's try this again.....

Hello! Well, it's quite obvious that I am very new to this seeing how there is a lack of posts. :) So, I'm back and with a new and improved attitude. My attitude is good considering what I am going through in my life at present. However, I believe that all of this is only going to make me a stronger and hopefully at the same time a better person (keep your fingers crossed). What is going on in my life, you ask? Let's just say that I think I'm being tested to the fullest by His utmost Highest! I'm not quite ready to elaborate on it, but I promise to do so at a later date. I want to take a moment and tell everyone on a belated note that I hope your Christmas was wonderful and magical. And I hope your New Year started off with a bang ***!!!!!! Wasn't it great to see Dick Clark co-host his rockin' eve in New York?! I applaud him for having the strength, courage and determination to face this horrible thing called "stroke" head on and tell "it" who's in charge!! Bravo Dick--we all love you!!! In closing, I wish you all the very best that the New Year has to offer and remember...start each day as if it were on purpose--Will Smith in "Hitch" (love that movie!!) Much Love and Many Cups of Great Coffee-lil' sherry
